Greetings everyone and Happy 2008!
I am delighted to announce Penn Nursing's inauguration in the "Penn in the Gulf" program and in particular the Feldman Initiative in Pearlington, Mississippi. Penn Nursing will be represented by a 9-member strong group of senior nursing students and faculty and joined by 20 other members of the Penn community -- from the School of Social Policy and Practice, the Dental School, and the School of Engineering -- all of whom are traveling to Pearlington from Jan 3-13 to participate in a series of projects aimed at post-Katrina health and environmental recovery efforts. While we are in Mississippi we will be posting news, reactions, and reflections on our activities and experiences on this newest Penn Nursing blog as often as we can, and we look forward to reading your thoughts in response. It's going to be an incredible trip and we look forward to having you join us virtually on the "front line." We'll be back in touch after we arrive tomorrow and get settled. Cheers!
